Julius Perez believes coming to work at Beyond Vision saved his life.
Born with congenital glaucoma, Julius worked as an LPN, a chef and ran his own business. But as time went on, his health deteriorated. Due to a medical complication that left him in a coma, he lost what was left of his sight in 2013.
By chance, Julius found his way to Beyond Vision, a community he says believed in him. He was motivated to lose 150 pounds and regained control of his health.
A natural leader, Julius is known for his quality and quantity of work, friendliness, patience, and willingness to help anyone who needs it. This includes organizing fundraisers with his Beyond Vision team.
“Usually people see blind people as needy,” Julius says. “But sometimes a person who is blind can be in the position to give back and help.”
