How long have you worked at Beyond Vision?

I started at Beyond Vision in 2017 as a way to supplement my retirement and stay busy. Originally, I was in the machine shop, which I really enjoyed, and now I am in the contact center.

The variety of campaigns keeps the job interesting. People may think contact center work is very simple, but it takes attention to detail and a fair amount of skill to navigate the conversation and the technology at the same time. There is a lot of detail and nuance to these campaigns.

What about your role motivates you?

Some campaigns really make me feel like I’m doing some good. We helped Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority determine the effectiveness of new accessibility measures by contacting people with various disabilities and gathering their thoughts and feelings on new technology.

Why is Beyond Vision a good place to work for people who are blind?

In most other work environments, a person who has vision loss spends their energy trying to overcome accessibility challenges to meet the minimum standard of the role. At Beyond Vision we’re able to really use our brains and contribute to the company and pursue our greater potential.
