How long have you worked at Beyond Vision? What did you do before?
I started as a temp in 2021. I found out about Beyond Vision through a friend who worked there and thought it was a much better environment than what she’s used to. They’ve been very welcoming and kind. Before, I was a hand assembler at NIB. I always knew I was cutout for more. My family always told me I was capable of more than assembly, so when the opportunity at Beyond Vision arose I jumped at the opportunity.
Our rallying cry this year is starting the push to reach 50 call center employees in the next 4 years. How does a mission like that motivate you?
When I work on making calls or writing process documentation, its humbling to know this will be used far and wide by people for a long time. Whether it’s making calls or writing process, I know I’m having an impact in pushing us forward to that goal… Having 50 agents would be amazing.
What should everyone know about Beyond Vision? What makes them a good place to work for people who are blind?
The fact that we have a commitment to accessibility in its processes and continuous improvement. The support of the people around you. Teammates truly care for each other and helping one another not only professionally but having a true support system.
It’s a caring, inclusive group of people. We’re serious about our work, but yet we support each other.
