The newest addition the Wiscraft line of products for the US Government consists of entry mats and anti-fatigue mats. These products are sold through the Ability-One program.
The walk-off and entry mats consist of several mats that the customer can choose from, including a series of 3, that when used together, give the customer the best possible defense against dirt and water getting into a building. One type of mat is manufactured from recycled PET, preventing 96 bottles from entering landfill, creating the ultimate “green” mat system as a defense against outside elements.
Wiscraft is also offering a line of anti-fatigue mats, which are designed to prevent body aches that are caused from standing all day long. This is done by combining softness, as well as support, allowing for a proper distribution of weight, which reduces pressure on joints.
To produce these mats, Wiscraft received a donated press cutter, from Milsco Mfg., which, with the use of dies, allows employees to trim the edges of the mats prior to packing. Wiscraft also purchased a cutting table to trim the heavier tuber entry mats, using an electric cutting knife.
The Wiscraft Communication Center is helping the program by making calls to area companies about the anti-fatigue mats. Since these calls began October 1, 2010, several sales have been made.
“Our pricing makes us an attractive alternative to the various catalogs that sell these products”, states Mike Girard, Assembly & Packaging Business Unit Manager. “This product line offers Wiscraft a great opportunity, not only through government sales, but through commercial channels as well.”
Wiscraft also has the capabilities to ship mats with printing or logos on them. The customer needs to only provide artwork and detail of what they would like, and the mat will be produced to specifications.
The expectations of this product line are high. Wiscraft expects to meet or exceed the forecasts used by the Federal Government within 2 years. And best of all, this product line will provide 1850 blind labor hours annually!
