ISO 9000-2008 Certified

Throughout the years, many have asked us what ISO 9000 is. In short, it’s a standard for quality.  Its initials stand for the International Standards Organization, and its certification tells customers, suppliers, and investors that the organization embraces quality in its processes.  Wiscraft has been ISO 9001:2000 certified since 2002 and recently re-certified to the newer ISO 9001:2008 standard.

We’re also asked why ISO 9000 is important. Our answer has always been that the requirements of ISO 9000 ensure Wiscraft meets customer expectations. If customers cannot be assured their expectations will be met, they’ll find another supplier that can.

As an ISO 9000 organization, we’re continuously looking for improvement.  Management meets monthly to review results of audits, customer feedback, process performance, product conformity, status of preventive and corrective actions, changes that could affect quality, and recommendations for improvement.

An annual audit is also conducted by an independent third-party to confirm our compliance with ISO 9000 requirements.  Since first certifying in 2002, Wiscraft has never received a non-conformance finding from auditors.  This speaks volumes about the dedication of Wiscraft employees to satisfy customers and continually improve.

Since that first ISO certification, the bar has been raised and employees have met the challenge with a greater sense of pride in workmanship.  They work diligently to hone their skills and take personal ownership in not only the manufacturing process, but in the overall company as well. So when people ask what ISO 9001 is, we could give the technical definition, but we prefer to say, “It promotes the mission of Wiscraft and its future opportunities.”
