Beyond Vision / 2nd Annual Shot in the Dark Golf Fundraiser Fun

2nd Annual Shot in the Dark Golf Fundraiser Fun

Have you ever played a round of golf in the dark?  With glow sticks and flashlights in hand, nearly 100 supporters of the Beyond Vision mission lit up the night at Silver Spring Golf Club on Friday, September 9th, 2016.  Teeing off just before sunset, this one of a kind event gave participants an opportunity to play multiple holes in the dark, giving them a tiny glimpse of what it would be like to be blind or visually impaired.  Although nobody won the brand new Harley-Davidson on the hole-in-one challenge, everyone enjoyed the complimentary open bar, dinner and silent auction in the clubhouse. The event also featured our vision impairment putting simulator. Supporters tested their putting skills while wearing goggles simulating the various forms and degrees of vision impairments. The same vision impairments that many of our employees overcome on a daily basis working in our Customer Care Center and Machine Shop.

Beyond Vision and our 2016 Shot in the Dark golf committee would like to say thank you to our many generous sponsors (listed below), volunteers, participants and staff of the Silver Spring Golf Club. With a 20% increase in funds raised over last year, the 2016 event was a huge success! All of the money raised ensures people who are blind in our community have access to valuable job skills training and sustainable employment opportunities. Beyond Vision is a runway for people who are blind to achieve personal and economic independence. Thank you and we will see you once again in 2017!

Keep up with our EVENTS!
